Kuldiga is an enchanting little town in western Latvia, not far from Ventspils and only 150 km from Riga.
Kuldiga is more than just a village. It is a well-preserved Latvian town with a traditional atmosphere where little has changed over the years.
Much of the town has managed to escape from numerous wars and fires. One may still find original wooden buildings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries.
The most notable tourist attraction in Kuldiga is Europe’s widest waterfall, the “Ventas Rumba”, 249 metres wide. The brick arch bridge, built in 1874, is an architectural monument and provides an excellent view of the waterfall.
Kuldiga is famous for its inventive festivals and other cultural events.
