Estonia and the Czech Republic may win visa freedom with the USA within a year, since they are likely to meet softened requirements that were agreed on Wednesday.
According to new rules, a state in which less than 10% of visa applications during the past year have been rejected may join the visa freedom program. Another requirement says that the number of visitors from the country who have travelled to the USA and stayed longer than the visa permitted should not exceed a certain, fairly low, standard.
