The museum is situated on the south coast of Coplinn’s bay in the former summer estate Rocca al Mare, which was owned by a Tallinn’s burgher A. Gigard de Soucantoni. It occupied a territory of 80 hectares.
The museums contains old buildings and dwellings, such as farm-steads from the beginning of our century and 18th century khutors, brought from different regions of Estonia. The way of life of the people of those centuries differed greatly, which is reflected in the architecture of their dwellings. Such difference in styles is directly related to the geographic location of different Estonian regions.
