In Old Town, there are many old buildings from the 15-16 centuries.
The main street is called Didzioji (Great). It starts at the Cathedral Square, runs through the former city hall building, and ends at the gate-chapel by the name of Ausros Vartai (16 century). The famous icon of St. Mary, which has become the object of worship for Catholics from whole Western Europe, is located in that chapel.
