The place to enjoy the flavours of Latvia.
The restaurant „NIKLĀVS” provides an opportunity to try out traditional Latvian dishes with unforgettable flavours of the highest quality.
In planning her menus, the restaurant’s Head Chef, Sarmīte Neimane, makes use of farmers’ locally grown produce and seasonal foods which she collects herself, such as wild mushrooms, sorrel, bilberries and other foods that nature provides.
Throughout the year our restaurant guests have the opportunity to savour the tastes of seasonal produce. This is what is so special about our Head Chef’s selection.
As well as dishes with Latvian flavours – our pride and joy – our menu also includes classical European dishes.
The restaurant „NIKLĀVS” is situated in Rīga’s Old Town in a building that once housed the studio of one of the original artists of the modernism period – Niklāvs Strunke.
Reproductions of paintings of his and of other notable Latvian artists of the modernist period hang on the restaurant walls and, in order to emphasise the close link between food preparation and art, the restaurant was named „NIKLĀVS”.
Our chefs are also inspired by the artistic atmosphere which is why our food is so creatively presented.
The restaurant is located in the heart of Rīga’s Old Town at the crossroads of Grēcnieku and Mārstaļu streets (iela), very close the St. Peter’s Church, the Doma cathedral square and the shopping centre Galerija.
Come and taste the heart of Latvia – enjoy it, get to know it, taste it!
