Museum occupies premises in Riga’s Castle. The most significant collections of paintings and drawings: Holland and Flanders (XVII), Germany (XVI-XIX), Belgium (beginning of XX).
The lower hall is devoted to the art of Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Rome, Western Europe and the East.
The upper hall presents collection of Western-European art (period from the XV century till the beginning of the XX century). Among works of decorative-applied art the most valuable is Meissen porcelain collection.
