Autumn in Riga
Autumn in Latvia usually lasts for a long period of time, in measured tones and with sense, the trees get yellow or red then fall slowly, one by one, each in its time. In September-October people from Riga go to Sigulda - that's the tradition - but we decided to walk around Riga and take a trip to Cesis, where a medieval castle still stands with a park next to it. Who would think that it would snow in two weeks... (photos are taken in mid-October 2003).

The entry to the Shroud-brigde, not everyone is excited about it - jams and other problems, and the beauty around stays unnoticed!
Kipsala is an island in the centre of Riga, on which sky-scrapers are built, as for now, there are quite country-like streets here
The centre of the city is just over the river
