A walk around the Old Town

All the photos open in a new window, the size of the large photos does not exceed 100 Kb

What else is there to do in the Old Town? But of course: go to a nearby cafe.

One of the entrances, in this case - exits of the Old Town (a wedding in background)

There are as many gates and arcs, diciding the Old Town into many mini-towns and yards inside inside it as well.

The entrance from the side of the boulevards and the Opera Theatre is being "guarded" by an original house with a globe at the top.

The "classical" streets of the Old Town - you never know what the next turn bring along...

Trokshniu Street (its extension on the previous pisture) - the street of noise alond the town's walls. A lot of noise was made here when an enemy approached the town.

... nothing to say, simply beautiful

There are lots of medieval storehouses in Old Riga, the biggest ones are turned into élite houses, as for this one - it must have been too small, on the other hand it managed to keep ist primordial looks.

Old Riga is not only a tourism centre but also the home of many famous people. R. Pauls lives here, for example and this is the house of V. Kargin, the president of Parex bank.

Cafes, bars and little restaurants await you in different secluded corners and alleys.

In case you get lost, there are signs like "Moscow - left", "Berlin - right" - it is important to strictly follow the direction of the arrow!

Don't forget to get som souvenirs...

...and some "Laima" chocolate in a "Laima" shop

Having seen all the cafes and shops in town, we somehow missed the Dome!

We're not varnishing the reality :) - you can see something like that as well
