Alexander Nevsky’s Orthodox Cathedral is built in 1900 and stands out from nearby buildings mainly due to its architecture. It was supposed to strengthen the Russian religious influence, in contrast to the western currents and German domination.
The Cathedral celebrated its 100th birthday in 2000.
